The Rhythms of the Early Church
In Acts 2, we see that the early church is born and then grows tremendously, by the power of the Holy Spirit in the everyday life of God's people. The church committed to the rhythms of meeting together, hearing the Word, praying with one another, and taking care of one another's needs. What was the result? "And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved." (Acts 2:47)
God's Plan for His People Today
God's plan is the same for today. He saves people and continues to grow them in their relationship with Jesus through the daily rhythms of the Christian life together. Through this, unbelievers see the love of God through His people's love for one another (John 13:35), and they, too, have multiple opportunities to see, hear, and respond by faith in Christ. Seeing, hearing, and responding to the gospel, as well as growing in maturity in the faith, are essential in the Christian faith and mission. We must hold fast to one another in the faith as we seek to follow Jesus and proclaim the gospel to a broken world.
Following Jesus Together
In conclusion, relationships with one another in the Christian faith are not optional. Whether someone has just heard the gospel for the first time, or has been following Jesus for decades, the journey of following Jesus was never meant ot be experienced alone. Our Community Groups within Origins meet throughout the city on different days as we seek to Love One Another and grow closer to Jesus. We encourage anyone who regularly attends Origins to come and put down roots with a Community Group. We also consider Groups to be a "Front Door" for Origins, so even if you have not worshiped with us on Sunday, you are welcome to check out a group this fall!
