Serving Our City Together

One of the blessings and responsibilities we have as a church family is to seek the good of our city. (Jer 29:7) We desire families who live, work, and play in our city to have their needs met both physically and spiritually.  We understand that we are incapable of doing this on our own and are grateful that the Lord has allowed us to build healthy relationships with local organizations that are also seeking the good of downtown Greenville! We hope that through these partnerships we can both serve immediate needs and share the hope of Jesus. Below are a few ways we have been able to serve alongside two of our partnerships, and also ways you can be praying with us heading into the summer!

Miracle Hill Rescue Mission & Shepherd's Gate

There are men and women in our city who struggle with homelessness and addiction, resulting from broken relationships with those close to them. Throughout the month, our Love the City Volunteers get to gather with men and women at the Greenville Rescue Mission and Shepherds Gate to listen to their needs, lead devotionals, and pray with them. Our volunteers have witnessed firsthand the redemption that Jesus has brought in many of these men's and women's lives and have had their own hearts transformed in the process.

How You Can Pray

Take time as we head into the summer, to pray that the Lord will continue to bring transformation through His Word (Heb 4:12) and the efforts of our volunteers as they give their time to pour into these men and women as we head into the summer.

Greenville High School

The next generation is being shaped right here in our city by teachers and coaches at Greenville High School, and so much of what they do goes unnoticed. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate GHS staff throughout this school year with lunch and breakfast! We have also had a committed team of ladies who led devotionals for the GHS Softball team for the past two years! We know and trust that the Lord will use these efforts for His glory.

How You Can Pray

There are two ways you can pray for GHS this summer. First, ask that God would give rest to the teachers and coaches who have given all they have to pour into the students of our city, and that God would draw them to true spiritual rest through Jesus. Secondly, pray for the softball team. Ask God to give those who are Christ followers to follow Him closely and to live out the Great Commission boldly, so their teammates who do not know Christ would come to a saving relationship through Jesus.

Thank You, Origins Family

Thank you, Origins family, for answering the call to serve our city faithfully. Let us continue to pour our lives out for the gospel, so that our city may have repeated opportunities to see, hear, and respond to Jesus!
